Some people are shy or just don’t know what their first question should be if they come up to you and say hello. Help them out by giving them that reason and opening line so even shy people will have no problem coming up to you.
For example, my business, Spark Media Solutions, is tailored to creating custom editorial content. So I ask the question, “Do you work with really intelligent people who have great ideas that aren’t being heard in your industry? If so, come talk to me.” Asking a question like this has a dual effect, it sells yourself, but it addresses the reason the people are in the room. They’re there to find answers.
